What a weekend is all I can say, the weather in the lead up to the weekend was not good I have to admit and there were thoughts of do I postpone the weekend and I have to admit if it was not a combined clubs weekend I would have, thankfully I didn’t.
When we arrived at Maccas Nowra for once we were right on time, and then things started to get outta shape form there with a phone call from a stranded 4×4 at who was from Sydney staying down at one of the bays, he woke up early and decided to go for a drive by himself and leave the fiancé in bed to sleep in, he got stuck up a muddy track with no recovery gear at 08:00 and by the time we got there it would be fair to say he was scared of what the fiancé response was going to be when he finally got back to the motel as he was not game enough to call her, he was ever so glad to hear of the famous Dust ‘n Dirt recovery team and sprung for a carton of crown.
We were not sure of the crossing depth as it turns out that there is no Telstra phone coverage at the camp sight, so we decided to take the long way in so as not risk it, which combined with the extra time because of the rescue, meant that we did not have the time to take additional track as per the plan.
Saturday night was great I believe unfortunately due to lack of sleep I crashed rather early and so missed out on the stories, Sunday saw some slow starters due to the night before I believe, but it was still a great day with not a cloud in the sky. We all left around late morning some followed Ross and Rhonda and took the more direct route out to the highway will other took the scenic route with the Shoalhaven Club.
Talking with the Shoalhaven Club they would like to come up our way next time and experience some of what our area has to offer, but all in all it was a great weekend out and all enjoyed themselves
Regards Mick
