The day started off with not only some rain and a cloudy sky, but a text from Leo asking is the trip still on due to the wet weather and the slippery conditions that we all know Gee Arms Trail can have.
After meeting at Macca’s, and having some members have to pull out at last minute because of work commitment (or maybe it was the fear of getting Nissans shown up) we left with 3 Toyota’ s the scene was set for a perfect day with out those other wanna be 4×4’s.
Once we got going it appeared that the rain did the same thing, as we got closer to the track the road even became dusty, which was a good sign as always. Once aired down we tackled the track, one of the biggest comments that I had, and others agreed is the condition of the track, it would seem that a lot of people with big tyres and lift and little brains have been out there and left the track in a bad way, a number of the rock climbs have been dug out quite badly.
The last climb towards the end of the trail I decided to winch up, because to tell Cath that our new 4×4 that I claimed would not do extreme stuff with had broken was not going to go down well at any point, so winch up and save the drive train was a smarter option I believe
As far as damage goes I now have a small mark on the bottom of my passenger sill, Rodney ended up with gas tank fittings being broken by a rock that had being spun out from under a steer tyre, a sway bar bracket that was broken and a loose jar of hand cleaner that spilt in the rear of his car
All up I think it was a great day out and everybody had a great time, along the track.
